Long Term Storage of Plasmid DNA Samples (Recommend "66.2")

6 mM TRIS-Cl, pH 8.0
6 mM NaCl
0.2 mM EDTA
(Made from concentrated sterile stock solutions: 1M TRIS pH 8.0, 5 M NaCl, an 0.5 M EDTA, pH 8)

Like "TE" but also contains a small amount of NaCl that appears to better protect the DNA against breakage in frost-free freezers. The EDTA inhibits nucleases by binding divalent cations and the slightly alkaline conditions helps prevent de-purination.

Oligos may also be dissolved in "66.2" for very long term storage but de-salted IDT oligos are plain in plain water.
